POTTY TRAINING

I have been planning for months on how/when to start potty training for Olivia. Thanks to Auntie J, for the past month Olivia loves looking at her potty and is showing signs of readiness. So, I decided that, at 26 months, we would take the plunge and make it fun. I made a special “panties” box that’s filled with cute panties, got balloons and set up the potty seat. This morning I explained that we would no longer wear diapers and instead big girl panties (thanks April for the suggestion). She was so excited and did AWESOME!! Olivia tinkled in the potty 10 times, had only three accidents and went POO in the potty too!! Yep, I’m bragging.

The downside is that I’m at the end of my second trimester so lifting Olivia on/off the potty probably 40 times today was a challenge. It definitely paid off that we spent the whole day just focused on potty training.

Hooray for Olivia!!! Such a grownup little girl. She is growing so fast. I am sure she will be a good little mother’s helper when her little sister arrives. Love you Olivia.

How great! Give O a hug and high-five for me. It’s great to hear that the efforts went so well. You surely made it a fun event for her. Well done Jen. I also think I want balloons on my toilet.
— Uncle Buck
Buck, it is sad that more of us do not put balloons on our toilets. It would make the whole experience so much more fun, yes?
